In order to fight juvenile delinquency and the poverty which often is its cause, Chad Scouts created a reception and training centre. Situated in the southern periphery of Ndjamena, in the 9th district, it helps train young people from the suburbs, who have not received education and are exposed to juvenile delinquency.
The aim of the project is to fight poverty by offering youth from the suburbs a real alternative to delinquency, by training them for jobs in joinery, plumbing, the breeding of small cattle or poultry, and by teaching them the basics of reading. They should then be able to take care of themselves and care for their own needs.
